Because of our extensive, diverse background in aging, we can develop training to meet any organization's training needs. Some of our most requested training topics include:
New Directors Training: Getting on the Right Track
Participants will learn best practices in the management and delivery of nutrition and support services, and cover the fundamentals of a director’s job: planning, managing, monitoring, evaluation, reporting, fundraising. Targeted to both new and seasoned directors who would like a fresh look at the senior center industry, this workshop is typically two days but can be customized to fit a one-day schedule.
Extreme Makeover for Your Program
This full-day workshop will open the minds of your staff while they perform an imaginary makeover to create the ideal senior center. Participants will be asked to “think out of the box” to consider what their present services are, and what services they would offer if their wish list came true. This is an interactive workshop, where participants will utilize the information collected on various topic areas. The Bohse Team will provide many options and ideas to work with as well as guidance in meeting the needs of diverse populations (age, rural/urban, ethnicity etc.).
Serving Different Generations of Older Adults
Participants will learn the differences between the GI, Silent and Baby Boomer generations and the demographic trends they need to plan for. Learn the six strategies of marketing and how to attract the different age groups and ethnic communities. Each group responds to specific activities that accommodates their needs.
All workshops include pre-workshop consultation to customize the materials for the geographic location, and a post-workshop summary of workshop evaluations.
